Progress on the wood floor

The wood floor guys have made great progress today, and may finish today. The insulation crew finished their job today, which will keep the hot air outside.

We have a cool house!

The air conditioning is up and working (in fact its downright chilly in the basement). Arctic Insulation was blowing insulation into the attic and over the garage so the cool will stay inside. The wood floor guys have finished Rita's sewing room, and are working in the guest bedroom. The guys also finished the basic construction of the deck.

The geothermal guys completed the installation of the piping connected to the ground loops and the heating/cooling system. The materials for the deck were delivered today.

Tile and flooring progress

As of today we have electricity in the house. Alliant finally installed the new meter one that will work with our solar system. The meter will run backward when we are producing more electricity than we use. The floor tile crew worked Saturday and Sunday to complete about 90% of the tiling job. The hardwood flooring was delivered today, with installation later this week.

Painting and stone completed

The painters finished painting the ceiling, and painted the garage so our garage door can be installed. The stonemasons completed the stone on the west wall. When the gutters are installed, and the new exterior doors to replace the temporary ones now in place, the exterior of our new house will be finished.

Yesterday the painters finished the orangepeel finish on the ceilings and walls. Next week should see the completion of the interior paint and the deck. The retaining walls will be constructed soon.

Sheetrock completed, progress on siding

Today the sheetrock crew finished their job by taping and mudding the walls and ceilings in the house and garage. A final sanding and the walls will be ready for paint. The siding crew finished the north wall of the garage, and most of the east end of the house.

The siding and sheetrock crews made considerable progress today inside and outside of the house.

Progress update

Rita and I have been on vacation in Missouri with Matthew, Melissa, and our two oldest grandsons for the past week, so I will update progress on our house. While we were gone the electrical and plumbing systems were completed, and the the PV (solar) system was completed. As soon as we get our internet connection is made we can start producing electricity. The wall cavities between the studs were sprayed with one inch of closed cell foam. Today, Arctic Insulation placed fiberglass batts between the studs and covered it with a thick plastic vapor barrier. The sheetrock crew delivered a large amount today, and the sheetrock will be installed tomorrow. Friday, the siding that was delivered Monday will be installed.
